Josh and Jessie got married during the pandemic. I know Josh from working together at NBC2. He and Jessie both now work for Disney. Jessie with the animals, Josh with video work. They are both super talented, actually Josh did all my videos for this website. His mom reached out to me and asked me to do a commission piece as their wedding gift. Josh's mom and dad thought sea turtles because of Jessie's background. Since we live hours apart, I told his mom to let me know when he plans to be in the South Florida region. She and I concocted a plan. Sure enough Josh and Jessie were going to be in the area. I texted him about a week before his planned trip and asked him if he was going to be in town anytime soon. He said actually he was this week. I said I had something small for them and if I could meet up with them quick on their way to their destination. Oh waiting for them to arrive I literally had butterflies in my stomach. I was so excited to give them this gift that I painted just for them on behalf of his parents. Lydia and Rory were with me. Rory watched from the van and Lydia served as my videographer. No one really pays attention to a kid on their phone, so I'm pretty sure they had no idea I was recording. I put together this little video of the surprise. Minus the rain, it could not have gone any better. And they loved it too.
